Many things could be considered powerful on earth. I’ve traveled to Canada and have seen the great Niagara Falls. I’ve been on massive cruise ships that traveled great distances and airplanes that flew halfway around the world. How about the incredible force of a hurricane or tornado? Certainly, there is the mighty Mississippi River or the shifting force of an earthquake. I could go on and on, but to mention a seed to some would seem out of place, and yet I will not hesitate in saying that a seed has power that would rival, if not eclipse, all of the aforementioned. Let’s look at why I consider Planet Earth itself one gigantic seed.

In Genesis chapter 1, God created the earth and everything that’s on it. Did you know that everything that’s on the planet came out of the planet? That’s right, from the birds of the air to the fish in the sea, the beast of the field, and all the creeping things, trees, and vegetation. Even man

was created out of the ground. The Lord did not send to any other planet to get anything that’s on this planet. Out of this planet comes all of our food and clothing. Even electricity is generated from magnetic currents, radio waves, and an electric charge in the atmosphere, ocean, and the earth. Literally, everything that’s on the planet in one form or another comes from the planet. In my evaluation, this would characterize our planet as a seed.

Then there is the seed of life that we find in all living things. In the vast ocean, the living creatures keep reproducing through the power of a seed. All animals, plant life, fruits, and vegetables contain within themselves a seed to reproduce after their kind, and wouldn’t you know it, man’s power to continue existing is not in his mind or will, but it is in his seed. Even the grand plan of salvation came to the planet in seed form. He was born in the town of Bethlehem to a virgin named Mary. She wrapped Him in swaddling clothing. She nurtured Him until His potential began to manifest in healing the sick, raising the dead, feeding the multitudes, casting out devils, and yes, preaching and teaching the things

concerning the kingdom of God. It wasn’t until Christ reached the cross that we see the maximum potential of the seed become the fruit of righteousness. It opens itself only to reveal that not only was He a seed in birth but even in death. Christ was the greatest seed that the world has ever known. What good is a seed above the ground? For the power of a seed to be realized, it must be planted. If you thought that Christ was powerful alive on the earth, look at the power of a planted seed. When Christ was buried three days in the earth, He conquered man’s greatest enemy, death. Now here we are, over two thousand years later, and Christ is still being preached and entered into the hearts of man by faith in seed form. He is changing lives forever and transforming believers into trees of righteousness. These trees bear the fruit of the spirit and ultimately use their lives as seeds of righteousness to win others into His kingdom.

The entire plan of God is revealed to us in seed form. The preached word of God is considered seed. In Matthew 13:3-9, Christ teaches the parable of the farmer who went forth casting his seeds which fell on four different types of soil.
